Buckle up meets
The next meeting for Lake County Buckle Up members will be on Thursday, March 15 from 12-1 p.m. in the large conference room of the Lake County Health Department. Topics include the upcoming Alive at 25 class on April 23, ideas for the May Mobilization period and the Saved by the Belt award.
Ghost out
St. Ignatius High School will be holding a Ghost Out, a drunk driving simulation, on Thursday, March 15. Emergency vehicles will be on site for the simulation at 2 p.m., which is preceded by a 1 p.m. assembly. For more information, contact Terri at 745-3811 x 221.
SNL at Charlo
Charlo High School Drama will perform Saturday Night Live on Thursday, March 15 at 6:30 p.m. in the Charlo gym. Come see students imitate Justin Bieber, Taylor Swift, Will Ferrell and more!
Softball signup

President’s lecture
Professor John Domitrovich will speak on “Racism and Religion: The Aryan Nations Racist Group” as part of the SKC President’s Lecture Series at the Arlee/Charlo Theatre on March 16 from 12-1 p.m. The presentation will focus on the white power movement and will give a brief history, but will primarily focus on the Aryan Nations white supremacist group that was active out of Hayden, Idaho for many years.
Beauty and the Beast
The Ronan High School Drama Department will perform “Beauty and the Beast” on March 15 and 16 at 7 p.m. at the Ronan Performing Arts Center. The production is an original work by Rita Tingey, with lyrics by Karla Martinson. Don’t miss the enchanted telling of this famous fairy tale.
Thyme for herbs
The next Thyme for Herbs meeting will be on Saturday, March 17 at 10 a.m. in the North Lake County Public Library meeting room at 2 First Avenue East. Jude Hardesty will speak on the use of young living essential oils and their wide variety of uses. For more information, contact Jude at 270-6652.
Irish parade
The Ronan Irish Community will hold its 23rd Annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade in Ronan on Saturday, March 17 at 2:30 p.m. on Main Street. Anyone can be Irish on St. Patrick’s Day and we look forward to as many floats, walkers and participants as we can get. Hunter ed
Arlee Hunter Education Registration will be held Monday, March 19 at 6:30 p.m. in the Arlee Fire Hall. The course is open to everyone, but anyone born after Jan. 1,1985 must have successfully completed the course to purchase a hunting license in Montana. Arlee CDC meets
The Arlee Community Development Corporation will hold its March meeting on Tuesday, March 20, 2012 at 6 p.m. in the Arlee High School business lab. The meeting is open to the public and we welcome you to attend. For more information contact Kelley at 726-5550.
Clinic cancelled
The Tuesday afternoon walk-in Immunization Clinic at the Lake County Health Department will be cancelled for Tuesday, March 20. The clinic will be available again on Tuesday, March 27. If you have questions about the immunization clinic or other services offered please call the health department at 883-7288.
HHEC concert
The Helping Hands Ecumenical Choral Concert is scheduled for Sunday, March 25 at 4 p.m. at the Immaculate Conception Church. The annual fundraiser for the Polson Ministerial Association’s Helping Hands Fund raises money to meet the emergency needs of Polson residents and folks traveling through. Practices for anyone wishing to sing are on March 20 and 21 at 7 p.m. at the United Methodist Church in Polson. For more info, contact Mason Niblack at 883-8256.
Spring fling
The annual Spring Fling Brunch hosted by Round Butte Woman Club will be held Sunday, March 25 from 10-2. Jack Fay will be serving sourdough pancakes. The ladies will also be serving biscuits and sausage gravy, scrambled eggs and fresh fruit. The Clubhouse is located eight miles west of Ronan on Round Butte Road. PFLAG meets
Please join us for a meeting of PFLAG in Polson on Wednesday, March 28, 5:30-7:30 p.m., at the North Lake County Public Library. All are welcome for an entertaining program as well as support networking. Research shows that families who experience social support are better able to prevent and cope with life stressors. Kindergarten roundup
The kindergarten roundup at St. Ignatius Elementary will be on Tuesday, April 2 from 9-11 a.m. and 12-3 p.m. To attend kindergarten in the fall, a child must be 5 years old and their guardian must bring with them their child’s immunizations and birth certificate as well as proof of residency, the guardian’s ID and the student.
Outdoor fair
Looking for an outdoor adventure? Look no further than the Youth Outdoor Fair on April 7 from 5-9 p.m. at the Ronan Community Center. Fun games and exhibits will educate kids on survival, animals and nature here in Montana. Experienced and professional exhibitors will be there to give great information. There will be lots of prizes and drawings at the end of the night.
Donations needed
The Valley View Women’s club is in need of non-clothing items for their spring rummage sale. The sale will be on Saturday, May 5 from 10-2, at the Valley View Clubhouse. A Mexican lunch will be available. For pickup or drop-off, call Linda at 883-0540, Donna at 883-5529 or Karen at 883-1232. All proceeds go toward rain gutters for the clubhouse.
Wings for wishes
Wings for Wishes Over Montana returns to Ronan on August 18 and 19, 2012. This is a Radio Contol (R/C) Fun Fly event to benefit the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Montana. We would appreciate anything you can give in the way of time, expertise or donations toward its success. Tax prep
AARP Taxaide volunteers are available to assist in preparation and electronic filing of your 2011 income tax returns. This assistance is available to any taxpayer of low to moderate income. The volunteers will be at the Polson Senior Citizens Center (883-4735) every Thursday and in Ronan (676-2371) every Friday, until the filing deadline. The volunteers will be at the St. Ignatius Center (745-4462) on the first and third Tuesdays of each month. This is service is provided by appointment only. Please call to set up your appointment.
Donate bikes
We are looking for outgrown or unused bicycles in working condition that people would be willing to donate for our Community Earth Day and Walk and Roll Event that will be held on Saturday, April 21.
