Pachyderm club
“Drawing the lines — why it matters” will be the subject of the Lake County Pachyderm Club meeting on Friday, March 23 in the conference room of the Polson Rural Fire Dept. Justice Jim Regnier will be speaking. The noon meeting is preceded by a social time for brown bag lunches at 11:30 a.m.
MCT play
A fresh look at an age-old favorite comes to Charlo when the Missoula Children’s Theatre and more than 50 local students present The Little Mermaid on Saturday, March 24 at 7 p.m. in the Charlo gym.
Spring fling
The annual Spring Fling Brunch hosted by Round Butte Woman Club will be held Sunday, March 25 from 10-2. Jack Fay will be serving sourdough pancakes. The ladies will also be serving biscuits and sausage gravy, scrambled eggs and fresh fruit. The Clubhouse is located eight miles west of Ronan on Round Butte Road. Musical tryouts
The Port Polson Players, in association with the Mission Valley Friends of the Arts, announce auditions for the upcoming production of Meredith Wilson’s musical, “The Music Man.” Tryouts will be Sunday, March 25, at the John Dowdall Theatre on the Polson golf course. Junior high and high school students audition at 1 p.m. and adults at 2. No prepared material is necessary, but hopeful actors will read from the script, sing and dance.
Choral concert
The Helping Hands Ecumenical Choral Concert is scheduled for Sunday, March 25 at 4 p.m. at the Immaculate Conception Church. The annual fundraiser for the Polson Ministerial Association’s Helping Hands Fund raises money to meet the emergency needs of Polson residents and folks traveling through. Practices for anyone wishing to sing are on March 20 and 21 at 7 p.m. at the United Methodist Church in Polson. For more information, contact Mason Niblack at 883-8256.
PFLAG meets
Please join us for a meeting of PFLAG in Polson on Wednesday, March 28, 5:30-7:30 p.m., at the North Lake County Public Library. All are welcome for an entertaining program as well as support networking. Research shows that families who experience social support are better able to prevent and cope with life stressors. Kindergarten roundup
The kindergarten roundup at St. Ignatius Elementary will be on Tuesday, April 2 from 9-11 a.m. and 12-3 p.m. To attend kindergarten in the fall, a child must be 5 years old and their guardian must bring with them their child’s immunizations and birth certificate as well as proof of residency, the guardian’s ID and the student.
Caregivers class
A Powerful Tools for Caregivers class is scheduled for Tuesdays, April 3-May 8, at the Community Bank meeting room in Polson from 10-11:30 a.m. There is no fee for the class. The class is sponsored by the Area VI Agency on Aging to help caregivers take care of themselves, better understand their emotions and communicate more effectively. Quilt guild
The Mission Mountain Quilt Guild will meet on April 3 at the Ronan Alliance church at 6 p.m. Education will be a hand appliqué lesson by Marina Cheff. This is the last month for the Block of the Month block to enter for the drawing. Show and tell is always lots of fun. Hope to see you there.
Golf league

Outdoor fair
Looking for an outdoor adventure? Look no further than the Youth Outdoor Fair on April 7 from 5-9 p.m. at the Ronan Community Center. Fun games and exhibits will educate kids on survival, animals and nature here in Montana. Experienced and professional exhibitors will be there to give great information. There will be lots of prizes and drawings at the end of the night.
Hunter ed
Registration for the spring hunter education course will be Monday, April 9, in the Beaverhead Science Building, room 116, on the Salish Kootenai College campus in Pablo. Walk and roll
Celebrate Earth Day at the Walk and Roll event on Saturday, April 21 from 11-2 along the U.S. Highway 93 bicycle/pedestrian path. We are also looking for outgrown or unused bicycles in working condition that people would be willing to donate. We will be willing to pick them up or you can drop them off at the Ronan Tribal Fitness Center or the maintenance barn at SKC. Donations needed
The Valley View Women’s club is in need of non-clothing items for their spring rummage sale. The sale will be on Saturday, May 5 from 10-2, at the Valley View Clubhouse. A Mexican lunch will be available. For pickup or drop-off, call Linda at 883-0540, Donna at 883-5529 or Karen at 883-1232. All proceeds go toward rain gutters for the clubhouse.
Women 4 Wellness
The Women 4 Wellness Health Matters event will be on Thursday, May 17 from 10-5 at the Joe McDonald Health and Fitness Center at SKC. Registration for the event closes April 12.
Ronan reunion
The Ronan class of 1977 will have their 35th class reunion July 20 and 21. Letters were sent out in November. The reunion will be at the Valley View Clubhouse. Please let us know if you are attending; we need a count for the Valley View Women’s club, as they are catering the Saturday night dinner. We are also looking for classmates Ken Kimes and Ken Zaske. Wings for wishes
Wings for Wishes Over Montana returns to Ronan on August 18 and 19, 2012. This is a Radio Control (R/C) Fun Fly event to benefit the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Montana. We would appreciate anything you can give in the way of time, expertise or donations toward its success. Tax prep
AARP Taxaide volunteers are available to assist in preparation and electronic filing of your 2011 income tax returns. This assistance is available to any taxpayer of low to moderate income. The volunteers will be at the Polson Senior Citizens Center (883-4735) every Thursday and in Ronan (676-2371) every Friday, until the filing deadline. The volunteers will be at the St. Ignatius Center (745-4462) on the first and third Tuesdays of each month. This service is provided by appointment only. Please call to set up your appointment.
