Gerald John Vanden Bosch

| March 29, 2012 2:30 PM

I was born on April 23, 1933, the son of John and Ida Vanden Bosch of Edgerton, Minn. I was raised there with my brother, Henry, and sister, Gloria Mouw.

On Jan. 16, 1951, I joined the U.S. Army where I fought honorably in the Korean War. I was discharged on Jan. 7, 1953 and awarded the Purple Heart. I traveled around the U.S. with some of my buddies on our motorcycles — what a trip!

April 3, 1965, I married my loving wife of 47 years, Karen Ann Wing. We have a caring and loving family. We have our wonderful children, Tammy Roberts and husband Doug, Kelly Vanden Bosch and wife Elisabeth. We have five beautiful grandchildren, Chazz and Shauna Roberts, Clara, Ethan and Celie Vanden Bosch; mother-in-law Marie Wing, sister-in law and husband Darlene and Steve Reum, sister-in law and husband Linda and Bob Bell, and brother-in-law and wife Ed and Sue Wing, and many nieces and nephews and lots of friends.

Now that you know a little about my life; I am going to climb on my Harley and take the most beautiful ride of my life, traveling with God’s speed and all the love in this world. And so now I’ll say “so long,” until we meet again one day.
