Clean-up! Green-up! this weekend

POLSON — The second annual Clean Up! Green Up! community-wide spring clean up will be held in Polson Saturday, May 5 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday, May 6 from noon to 5 p.m. The event is being organized by the Beautification Committee of Envision Polson!, chaired by Dorene Parise.

Clean up headquarters will be at Riverside Park where volunteers can grab a cup of coffee, some gloves and garbage bags before heading out to clean up major roadsides and public parks. Allied Waste is furnishing a large dumpster which also will be located at Riverside Park.

Homeowners are encouraged to clean up their yards and also help elderly neighbors who may need help. Yard trimmings may be placed in the street gutters; Polson city crews will pick it up and haul it away on Friday, May 18.

The purpose of the event is to spruce up our community before the busy summer season begins so that visitors to Polson will see how proud we are of our community.
