CHARLO — Four people were transported to the hospital early Sunday morning after they were struck by a hit-and-run vehicle while standing in a parking lot in Charlo.

At approximately 1:53 a.m., a black Ford pickup hit the individuals, standing among a crowd, before the vehicle fled the scene. About an hour later, Flathead Tribal Police located two individuals in the North Valley Creek area, who were arrested in connection with the incident.

Arlee’s Jared Hendrickson, 21, was released on $5,000 bond plus the cost of a SCRAM monitoring bracelet while 20-year-old passenger Alexandria Trejo-Courchane was cited for minor in possession and later released.

The four hospitalized victims had all been released as of Tuesday afternoon, according to Lake County Undersheriff Dan Yonkin.

Lake County Sheriff’s Office deputies, as well as CSKT tribal police, Montana Highway Patrol, Charlo Quick Response Unit and Ronan Ambulance responded to the scene.

As of presstime Tuesday, the incident remains under investigation. Anyone wishing to provide additional information should contact Lake County Detective Rick Lenz at 406-883-7324.

The Sheriff would like to remind residents that recent Legislative changes make it a felony to leave the scene of an accident involving a death or serious bodily injury and penalties range from one to 10 years in prison.
