“It's all about taking time for your health,” said Run 4 It 5K organizer Alana Bahe, with the Center for Prevention and Wellness in Pablo. “Women are so busy today, and with the Women 4 Wellness fair coming up, women need to take more time for themselves to stay healthy. A nice leisure walk for a mile or even a 5K is the perfect time to get ladies out in the sun.”

The event couldn’t have asked for better weather, except Saturday’s inaugural 5K fun run didn’t just attract the ladies. About 125 men, women and children of all ages participated in the event, which included a one-mile run/walk as well.

Polson Running Club donated its clock, finish line, timers and race numbers and additional sponsors provided water, gatorade and supplies, while volunteering their time, providing snacks post race and lastly, the snazzy runner T-shirts.

“Dunner Parazoo really helped out with the course layout,” Bahe said. “He is always ready and willing to help out.”

Women 4 Wellness (W4W) is happening this Thursday, May 17, from 10 a.m-5 p.m. at the Joe McDonald Fitness Center in Pablo.

“We are expecting over 100 vendors that are bringing health screenings and other fun stuff,” Bahe said. “A first this year is the Mobile Mammogram bus that will be parked at W4W all day.”

Anyone planning on attending W4W can go out our website and register or get more information.  Ladies, and men too, should plan to set aside about two hours to spend at the health fair.
