This Thursday (8th) is our evening meal, at 5 p.m. We will be serving oven baked chicken, and the cost is only $5.00 per person. The Veterans rep will also be here on Thursday, from 1 until 2 in the afternoon.

Many of you have called about the foot clinics. At this time, we are not having them, and do not know when we will.

Our annual Thanksgiving dinner will be here on Wed. Nov. 14, at noon. We will be serving turkey and all of the goodies that go with it. Come on in a join us, and get a jump-start on the Holidays. The Center will be closed on Nov. 22 and 23 for the Thanksgiving holiday.

Cards will be here on Monday, the 19th, at 1:30, and the Norwest agent will be here again on the 26th, to discuss the Medicare supplements.

Our menu for the following week: Thurs.(8th) is our chicken dinner (5:00), Fri.(9th) is spaghetti, Mon. (12th) is cook’s choice and Wed.(14th) is our Thanksgiving dinner.

Come on in and join us of a meal, to play pool and BING-O, or just to sit and visit with your friends. Remember, you don’t have to be old, or and old fogy, to join your friends and neighbors at your local Senior Center. You can call any of the Centers in Lake County, and they will give you a schedule of the things they have going on.

St. Ignatius

Assistance in reviewing and changing Medicare related plans will be available in the St. Ignatius Senior Citizens Center on Tuesday, Nov. 27. The consultations will be available by appointment only beginning at 9:30 a.m. The Area 6 Agency on Aging is providing the service. To sign up for an appointment, stop by or call the senior center.

A movie day and an activities day have will take place in the center this month. The movie “The Magic of Bella Isles “ will be shown in the center on Tuesday, Nov. 13, at 2:30 p.m.  Refreshments will be available.  The fun and games on Activities Day will begin on Tuesday, Nov. 27, at 2:30 p.m.

The following are activities at the center for November.  For more information, call the center at 745-4462.  Bingo is played after almost every lunch.  Ayleen’s Quilters quilt in the center most Thursdays.

We will be hosting the annual Community Thanksgiving Dinner again this year.  It will be on Thurs., Nov. 22nd from 11:00 to 2:00. We will be taking orders for home delivered meals and food donations here at the Center.  Our number is 883-4735.  Please give us a call if you want a meal or to donate a salad, pie or rolls.

The Toe Nail Clinic is on the 14th and BINGO is every Friday at 7 p.m.      

Bowling Scores from Oct. 30th are High Scratch Series Keith Ross 699, Larry Alter 654, Crystal Alter 635 and Jesse Barry 607. High Scratch Games had Keith Ross 258, Don Young 230, Larry Alter 230, Crystal Alter 223, Ray Theiler 219, Jesse Barry 213, Cindy Lawin 212, Frani Basta 208 and Larry Lawin 207.

Now for some card scores. Bridge for October 26th had Doris Gorsuch first and Bob Gorsuch second and on October 30th Millie Mielke was first and Bob Gorsuch took second. Pinochle scores for November 1st  had Ward Grilley first and Alice Johnson was second.

Remember to plan on attending the AARP Safe Driving class on Tues., Nov. 12 at 9:30 a.m. at the Dixon Senior Center. During November, it is free for veterans and their families, widows included. If you are an AARP member, the cost is just $12, nonmembers cost is $14. Bring your AARP card. The class is 4 hours,so bring a lunch.

We are changing the time of our Monday evening meal back to 5 o’clock, with the return to Mountain Standard Time. Lunch time will remain at noon on Thursdays. All ages are welcome to join us for delicious, nutritious meals!
