Polson 40, Hamilton 12

HAMILTON — Colton Lenz rushed for 123 yards and three touchdowns on 14 carries, leading Polson to a 40-12 win over Hamilton on Friday.

The Pirates (2-0) accumulated 288 yards on the ground in the game, overwhelming the Broncs’ defense.

Ian Ricketts also scored for the Pirates, punching himself into the end zone from five yards out.

Brady Hislop also put points on the board for the offense, nailing field goals from 27 and 34 yards away in the game.

Polson head coach Scott Wilson said he was thrilled to see his team be more productive in this game after only scoring only one touchdown against Belgrade.

“I was very pleased with the offensive output,” Wilson said. “The coaches challenge the offense and they rose to the occasion.”

The defense got in on the scoring frenzy as well, as Will Davey picked off a pass and returned in 74 yards for a touchdown.

Polson’s next game will be on Sept. 14, when they travel to take on Anaconda.
