Ronan man sentenced to 5 years
POLSON — On Sept. 5, Christopher Morigeau was sentenced to five years in prison for a probation violation arising out of a 2011 assault conviction.
According to court documents in October 2011 Christopher Morigeau was charged with felony assault with a weapon, for beating his girlfriend with a crutch. Morigeau had 2 previous partner family member assault charges.
In March Morigeau received a suspended five-year sentence. He served 45 days.
According to court documents, on Aug. 13 Officer Jason Nash and Officer Steven Raymond of the Flathead Tribal Police were called to Blue Bay Camp sites off of Hwy 35 by camp security requesting the removal of Morigeau from camp grounds.
According to court records, when officers arrived at the campsite, they found empty beer cans and Morigeau in a tent. When officers tried to talk to him, he threatened them and then resisted when the officers arrested him, court records stated.
The defendant signed a substance abuse admission form admitting his intake of four beers along with marijuana, suboxone and hydrocodone all violations of his probation.
