Dolores “Dodie” A. (Davis) Tillis

Dolores “Dodie” A. (Davis) Tillis, 81 passed away on August 23 in Reedsport, Ore. She was born on January 21, 1931 in Polson, to George and Minnie Davis. She grew up in Polson and was the first one in her family to graduate from high school in 1948. She attended Western Montana College in Dillon where she met Edward S. Tillis. They were married on August 12, 1950 in Dillon. They moved to Reedsport, Ore. in 1956 where Edward took a teaching position. She worked at Lower Umpqua Hospital in Reedsport in the dietary department for over 20 years. She was active in all branches of the Odd Fellows in Oregon. Past Noble Grand of Three Rivers Rebekah Lodge, Sunset Rebekah Lodge, Heceta Odd Fellow Lodge, Past President of the Oregon Department Ladies Auxiliary Patriarchs Militant and a member of Gardiner Odd Fellows, Canton Unity and White City Lea and Encampment. She is preceded in death by her parents, her brother Ernest Davis and grandson Peter Schaaf. She is survived by her husband Edward, daughter Geane Schaaf of Reedsport, son Joseph Tillis of Vancouver, Wash., three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Memorial service will be held on Monday Sept. 24 in Reedsport. Interment will be a private family service at Reedsport Masonic Cemetery. She requested that contributions be made to the American Heart Association and the American Diabetes Association.
