| September 20, 2012 1:15 PM

After a valiant battle filled with grace, Teri Babich Boettcher, aka “Scout”, died of cancer on Sept. 12, at her home in Polson, surrounded by her family.  She is survived by her husband, Bill Boettcher; daughter, Micah Lange (Helena); son, Jeremi Kirkland (Azle, Texas), sisters, Karen Babich (Wash., DC) and Debra Sears Bergeson (Bend, Ore.), brother, Brock Babich (LaQuinta, Calif.), and three grandchildren and six nieces and nephews. Teri graduated from Butte High School in 1963 and the University of Montana in 1967.  She was an educator and a program planner at various institutions in California, Washington, and Montana. She will be best remembered as a super athlete (inducted into the Butte Sports Hall of Fame), a loving wife, mother, sister and friend, who shared her love, wisdom and humor to the fullest.  Most of all, Teri will be remembered for her zest for life and seeking new experiences.  She is now on a new adventure carried on the wings of dragonflies. A memorial celebrating her life was held last Saturday.  Donations in her name can be sent to doctorswithoutborders.org.  Messages of condolences may be shared with the family online at www.groganfuneralhome.com.
