Candace Elizabeth White

| September 27, 2012 11:46 AM

Candace Elizabeth White left us on Sept. 18. Candace was born in Glentana, Montana on November 28, 1934, the fifteenth of sixteen children of Peter and Helena Stein. After spending her childhood “back on the farm” she married Clifford Simshaw, eventually settled in Sunburst where she took on the role of mother of her five boys; Calvin (Vancouver, Wash.), Doane (Polson), Bradley (Helena), Les (Polson), and Darren (Missoula).  In 1969, Candace married Rolly White and the family moved to Kalispell and then Polson where Rolly and Candace called home since 1972. Her loving and devoted husband, Rolly, passed away in August 2011. She will be remembered as a loyal friend by all those who were lucky enough to cross paths with her. But most of all she will be remembered for her kind and gentle heart. It is not a stretch to say that you would have to look far and wide and for a long time to find a heart that was as pure as hers. This is evident in her role as friend, as a wife, and as a mother. But it was especially evident in her role as “Grams;” grandmother and great-grandmother to not only her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, but also to many other children. I swear, she would have hugged and held every single child in the world if she could have. It is sad and painful to lose Grams, but we have all been blessed beyond blessed to have had her in our lives. Now she is at peace, most likely hugging and holding every single child in heaven.
