Gordon P. Jore

Gordon P. Jore was born in Keene, North Dakota, April 30, 1937 to Benert and Merriam Jore. He passed away Sept. 14 at Mountain View Care Center where he had been a resident for the last several years. Gordon was a 1956 graduate of Ronan High School. He went in the Army the same year. He spent 18 months of his enlistment in Korea and four years after his discharge in the Army Reserve. He was employed by Plum Creek Lumber for 15 years. He loved driving truck which he did for many years. His last driving job was hauling parts for his nephews at Jore, Inc. Gordon was also a stock car enthusiast and raced for several years on the old dirt track in Pablo. Gordon was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Phil Langland. He is survived by his wife, Gerry, his son Jim (Kristi) Jore of Polson, daughter Shelly (Steve) Wilson of Ballantine, twin daughters, Janna (Jay) Conklin of East Missoula and Joell (Gene) Conklin of Ronan; 14 grandchildren, Eric, Danielle, Jeremy, Lyndsie, Jacob, Lukas, Justin, Brian, Alisha, Elizabeth, Melina, Lawson, Jonathan, and Olivia, and one great-granddaughter, Lola; brothers Merle Jore, Ronan, Bill Langland, Chula Vista, Calif.; sisters, Cora Waldock, Minot, N.D., Eleanor Gafkjen, Williston, N.D., and Lucille Chandler, Concord, N.C., and many nieces and nephews. Military graveside services will be held at 11 a.m., Sept. 29 at the Ronan cemetery. A reception will follow at the Ronan VFW on Round Butte Road.
