St. Ignatius career day
ST. IGNATIUS — St. Ignatius high school students explored different professions and colleges during career day last Thursday at the high school.
The event is part of the yearlong System of Achieving Reality program, which teaches students about job interview, portfolios and resumes, and career options through job shadow experiences, said Terry Cable, career director at the school. "We've actually had kids get jobs because of this," Cable said, adding a committee of 12 students runs the job fair.
The program exposes students to future possibilities, something that freshman Susan Magallanes experienced first hand Thursday. "I feel like it's a bigger view of things," she said.
Senior Barret Sargeant also enjoyed the career day and said it was his first interaction with someone in the athletic training field, where he hopes to launch a career. "This was huge," he said, adding "and pretty much all of my questions were answered," he added.
