St. Ignatius
An AARP-sponsored drivers training course will be held in the St. Ignatius Senior Citizens Center on Thursday, May 23. The course is suited for senior citizens trying to refresh their driving skills. Persons taking the course are eligible for a state-mandated deduction in their insurance premiums. The class will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Although the course is tailored for seniors, everyone is welcome to take it. Advanced signup is required, and class size is limited. Sign up at the center or call 745-4462.
The following are activities scheduled for the rest of April. Bingo is played after almost every lunch. Ayleen’s Quilters quilt in the center most Thursdays.

Time is running out and the tickets are going fast for the LCCOA’s annual ladies luncheon on May 11. Call the COA at 676-2371 and make your reservations.
The card players met here on the 15th, with 22 people present. Peg Johnson had the high score, Don Siers had the low score, and Joyce Siers had the most pinochles. The door prize was won by Sharon Guenzler, and Rose McBurney provided the lunch.
There will be an AARP “55 ALIVE” class here on Wednesday, May 27. Give us a call (676-2371) to sign up.
The LCCOA and MVSC will be having their annual yard sale on Friday, May 31, and Saturday, June 1.
Our monthly birthday dinner will be on Friday, April 26, and all are invited to attend. Come on in and let Kim and Brandie tickle your taste buds.
Our menu for the rest of the month: Wed. (24th) is tater tot casserole; Fri. (26th) is roast beef; and Mon. (29th) is pork chops.
Polson
Last week I mentioned the 4th Annual Senior Open Golf Tournament sponsored by Farmers Insurance. This year the proceeds will go to our senior center. It is open to all amateurs age 50 and older and will take place at the Polson Bay Golf Course on Saturday and Sunday, May 18-19. For entry forms and more information, contact the Pro Shop at 883-8230 or Tracy Dooley at 883-0900. Remember, we are “Seniors Helping Seniors.”
The Toe Nail Clinic will be here on Wednesday, May 8.
Now for some card scores. Bridge scores for April 16 were Bob Gorsuch first and Dean Greiner was second and April 19 had Win Baer first and Max Neeley was second. No Pinochle was played this week, and we hope to see Duane Johnson up and back to feeling his own self again. Get well soon, Duane, from all of us here at the center.
