Zion Lutheran Advent Schedule
Advent Services will be on Thursday evenings. Join us for “soup” supper at 6:00 p.m. followed by the Advent Service at 7:00 pm. Sunday services are at 8:30 a.m. followed by refreshments and visiting. Christmas week there will be a Christmas Eve candlelight service at 9:00 p.m. Children and visitors are welcome to all our services. Zion is located at Second and Diamond streets. Affordable Care Act explained
Have questions about the Affordable Care Act? Certified In-Person Assisters who have been trained by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services to provide free public education and enrollment assistance for the Healthcare Insurance Marketplace. In-Person Assisters will be available to answer your questions at the followed Polson locations:
Thursday, Dec. 20th, the Lake County Health Department Conference Room, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The address is 802 Main Street.
In addition, Assisters are available to come and talk with your community group, neighborhood organization, church group, or at an activity that you think would be a good place for people to receive this information – just call (406) 546-0199 and we will schedule a time that works for you. Health insurance offered by the ACA begins on Jan. 1, 2014, but open enrollment will take place through March of 2014.
Holiday Train Show
The Annual Running of the Toy Trains will be held in the Railroad Museum at Four Winds Trading Post from 12 to 4 P. M. on Sunday December 29. Free admission for all. Call Chief Engineer Preston Miller 745-4336 for more information.
Health Board Member Needed
The Lake County Commissioners are seeking two citizen volunteers to serve three-year terms on the Lake County Board of Health. The board has regular bimonthly meetings and occasional special meetgins to address community health and environmental health issues. Meetings are normally held during business hours. There is no requirement for applying other than a strong interest in public health.
The Board of Commissioners will accept letters of interest to serve on the board through Monday, January 6, 2014. Letters should be addressed to the Lake County Commissioners, 106 4th Avenue East, Polson, Montana 59860. Candlelight Christmas Service
The St. Ignatius Christian Missionary Alliance Church is having a Candlelight Christmas Eve Service on Tuesday, Dec. 24th at 6:00 p.m. Refreshments following. The Christmas Story
Polson Community Church, 1814 First Street East, will present The Christmas Story in narrated picture and song on Christmas Eve, Tuesday, December 24, at 5:00 p.m., concluding with a candlelight service. All are welcome.
