CHARLO — Last Wednesday, Eagle Scout Ryan Fullerton, completed his service project in grand fashion, officially dedicating a new brick-based flagpole at the Charlo-Moiese Fire Department with a ceremonial flag raising conducted alongside the Veterans’ Honor Guard.

Fullerton, a senior at Charlo, was solely reponsible for gathering the resources and time needed to build the new structure, but said that the commitment paid off.

“It was a lot of work but it was all worth it. Hopefully it will be here for another 80 years or so,” Fullerton said.

“I’d like to thank everyone for helping me out,” Fullerton told the crowd. “I couldn’t have done it without you,” he added, thanking his parents especially.

Scout representative Mike Murray was one of many in attendance who voiced his appreciation for Fullerton’s work.

“He took the responsibility to get the bricks - everything,” he said. “This is what the Boy Scouts are all about.”
