Our Seniors enjoyed the annual Christmas gift exchange after a delicious pork chop luncheon. When we exchange gifts, each person can choose a pre-labeled gift (for man, woman, either) or take one which someone else has picked! The most- traveled gift was a pack of 10 lottery tickets.

We do appreciate our cook, Diane, and helper, Becky--every meal is so tasty and served attractively. We of the “Jello generation” also enjoy the frequent varieties of Jello dishes provided. Do plan to join us in the coming year--or before. We have dinner on Mondays at 5  p.m. and lunch each noon on Thursdays. Take-outs are available. Any age is welcome. Bring a neighbor or someone who would like a meal and a drive!

The menu for the next meals is:

Thurs.  Dec.  26   Meatloaf

Mon.  Dec. 30    Ham, potato casserolebe

Thurs.  Jan. 2      Veg. Soup, turkey sandwich

Mon.     Jan. 6      Salisbury Steak

Thurs.  Jan. 9       Brunch for lunch--ham, veggie omelet

We also appreciate the seasonal table toppings made by Delene Tufly, and Marie Ardis for decorating the dining room and providing cards for varied occasions.

Faye Pitts is still in Extended Care, where she says her broken bones are healed, and now she’s trying to grow some muscles. This is a good time to think of those around us to share a visit, a card, or just call to keep in touch ‘tis the season for so many things...and caring for others is an important one!

This has been a very busy couple of weeks, and now that Christmas is here, hopefully things will slow down a little. (Except, now it’s tax time). As we go into the new year, lets hope that things slow down a bit, and that the year doesn’t go by so quickly.

The card players met here on the 16th, with 16 players present. Esther Bick had the high score, Marie Cowan had the low score, Peg Johnson had the most pinochle, and Bob Watson won the door prize. They will meet again, here at the Ronan Center, on Monday, January 20th, at 1 pm. You can call the other Centers to see when cards will be played there.

Our birthday dinner is this Friday (27th). We serve at noon, and all are invited to attend.

We will be closed on Wednesday, Jan 1st. for the new years.

Our board meeting will be at 10 am, on Monday Jan. 6th. All board members and alternates are urged to attend as there are several things to be taken care of.

What with the weather and the time of year, our afternoon activities (Bing-O and crafts) have sort of fallen by the wayside. Hopefully, they will be in full swing after the 1st of the year.

We are also hoping to add a movie on Monday afternoons, following lunch. BYOPC (Bring your own popcorn). We also have a Wii game and could get a good “exercise / game time” going. We have had a DVD player and two TVs donated to us (along with the Wii game) and are planning on putting them to good use.

If you haven’t picked up your raffle prizes from the COA, please do so as soon as possible.

Our menu for the rest of the year and part of January is: Wed.(25th) we are closed, Fri.(27th) is roast beef, Mon. (30th) is beef stew, Wed. (1st) we are closed and Friday (3rd) is Pizza.

Have a great week. Enjoy the holidays!
