Raymond R. A. Viegut

Raymond Rheinhard Andrew Viegut, 76, of Hot Springs, passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 30 in Missoula. He was born on Jan. 10, 1937 in Wien, Wis., to Harry and Martha (Hirning) Viegut. After graduating from 8th grade, Raymond and his family moved to the Missoula area where he later graduated high school in 1954. After High School, he joined the Montana National Guard. On April 9, 1961, he married F. Darlene Anderson. Most of their lives together have been spent in the Hot Springs area. Raymond was a devoted member of the Hot Springs Masonic Lodge, Eastern Star, and Clark Fork Valley Shrine Club. He loved the outdoors. Ray enjoyed camping, fishing and hunting. His parents, Harry and Martha, and his sister Rachel Stark preceded him in death. Survivors include his wife, Darlene, his children, Scott (Angie) Viegut and Lisa (Phillip) Jordan, brother Allan, Aunt Lillian Hirning, grandchildren Cassi, Seth, Colten, Julie, Sydney and great-grandson Hiram, cousins, nieces and nephews. Raymond’s memorial service will be held in the Lone Pine Hall on Feb. 16 at 1:30 p.m. where a potluck reception will follow. A graveside service will be held at a later date.
