Irene Belle Johnson Olsen

Irene Belle Johnson Olsen, age 81, of Polson, passed away Sunday, Feb. 10, at St. Joseph Hospital in Polson. Irene was born March 5, 1931, in Regent, N.D., to Wayne Wilbaird and Della Louise Hunderdmark Johnson. Irene married Wallace Vernon Olsen on October 24, 1948. They were married 50 years until his passing in June of 1999. Irene enjoyed fishing, playing bingo, arrowhead hunting, ceramics, gardening, and playing cards. Irene was preceded in death by Wallace Vernon Olsen, Mary Margret Olsen, Florence Krank, Laura Ivey, Hazel Lutz, Edna Johnson, Ralph Johnson, Baird Johnson, and Wayne Olsen. Irene is survived by her children, Sharon (Mike) Lee of Pablo, and Yvonne (Jim) Kuntz of Moiese; grandchildren, Ed (Marcie) Lee of Sana Cruz, Calif., and their six children, Tae-Ja (Scott) Griggs of Oregon City, Ore., and their 2 children, Conan (Heather) Degolier of Antioch, Calif., LaSarha (Josh) Burland of Pablo, and their four children, Mercie (Magic) Johnson of Polson, and their four children, Maria Lopez and fiancé, Jake and their four children, and Micah Lee and fiancé, Misty; and siblings, Fern Lawrence of Dickinson, N.D., Duane (Alice) Johnson of Polson, and Gary Johnson of Arizona, Gene Johnson of Medical Lake, Wash. A visitation for Irene will be held Thursday, Feb. 14, from 1 -4 p.m. at Grogan Funeral Home, Polson. A funeral service will be held Friday, Feb. 15, at 11 a.m. at the New Life Christian Center, Polson. Burial will take place at Lake View Cemetery. A reception will follow at the church.
