Dean Larue Frolander

Dean Larue Frolander 81, of Quartzsite, Ariz., passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 13 at LaPaz Regional Hospital in Parker, Ariz. He was born in Missoula to Carl and Ruth Frolander on September 21, 1931. Growing up on the family farm by Ronan, he joined the Navy in his senior year of high school and served four years. In 1960 he married Deloris Hoflen. While employed with Teslow Elevator Co, they lived in Ronan, Hamilton, and Townsend. In 1965 they moved to Coon Rapids, Minn. with their children, Dora, Darlene and Dale. Dean was a plumbing apprentice and later had his own plumbing company. The family enjoyed many trips to Northern Minnesota, camping, fishing and canoeing.  Dean was also an avid hunter, coming to Montana many times to hunt elk. In 1978 he and his family returned to Ronan to the family farm where he continued with plumbing and farming. Marriage ended in 1998. In 2004 Dean and his wife Beth Wolf moved to Quartzsite, Ariz. where he lived until his death. He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Ruth Frolander.  Survivors include his wife Beth; his sisters, Betty Johnson, and Esther Portrey; his children, Dora, Darlene and Dale; grandchildren, Tia, Andrew, Christopher, Bryan, Travis, Lauren, Darreck, Thomas, and Kyle; great grandchildren, Eliana, Lydia, Saphria, Saoirse, and Zane; stepchildren, Gary and Heather; and stepgrandchildren, Makaylia and Amanda and also many nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
