Local man to attend West Point Academy

Specialist Zachary J. Hout, formerly of Pablo, has been selected for July 2013 admission to the United States Military Academy at West Point.

Hout attended grade school in Ronan and graduated high school in Edgewood, Md. in 2011. Upon graduation, he joined the U.S. Army as a Surgical Technician. In this capacity, he participated in over 200 surgeries at the Nation Military Medical Center in Bethesda, Md. and at Ireland Army Community Hospital in Fort Knox, Ky.

Hout will pursue an undergraduate degree in Chemistry at West Point with the intent of attending medical school shortly thereafter to become an Army physician.

Zachary is the son of Joe and Addie Hout, both graduates of Ronan High School.
