Polson High roof project moves forward
For the Polson trustees, employees and students, I would like to express my thanks to the Polson community for voting to repair the Polson High School roof. Not only will the roof be replaced but an efficient heat pump system will be purchased as well as improvements to the ventilation system for students and staff. Additionally asbestos materials contained within the soffits and the pealing panels on the high school gym will be abated. The net result will be a facility that will be highly efficient winter and summer not only for students and staff but also our community partners who utilize Polson High School. Thank you all so much!
Currently we have put out a Request for Qualifications (RFQ) for a Design/Build company to bid to oversee the entire roof project. All RFQs must be received by 4:00 PM March 25th. The Board has appointed a committee to review and score all submittals March 26-28. A selection of a Design/Build company will be made by the Board of Trustees in a Special Board Meeting March 28 at 5:30 PM.
Once the selection of a Design/Build Company has been made, parts of the project (soffits, roof, heat pump, ventilation ducting, asbestos abatement, etc.) will be bid out. We invite local contractors to bid for any of the various parts of this roof project. We will be on a short time line as the repairs will take place this summer. I will be writing to the community on the progress that has been made on these repairs.
Again, thank you for investing in Polson School District #23. We hope each and every community member will have the opportunity to see the effect of your tax dollars at work and enjoy the use of Polson High School through a concert, assembly or sporting event.
