Polson man pleads guilty to charges from unruly arrest

POLSON — In Lake County District Court last week, Brandon Ferguson, 19, of Polson pled guilty to an assortment of amended offenses, including multiple counts of assault with bodily fluid, stemming from his eventful arrest in January. Upon admitting to the crimes, Ferguson was subsequently released from the Lake County Jail and ordered to report to the Probation and Parole Office. His sentencing has been slated for June 6.

Ferguson committed the infractions on Jan. 23, when Polson Police responded to Cherry Hill Apartments in response to complaints about an intoxicated male. Upon arrival on the scene, officers were confronted by Ferguson, who, according to court documents, approached a squad car “while pulling his jacket off and yelling at the officer.” When Ferguson disobeyed an order to lay on the ground and instead raised his fists, the affidavit states that officer Cory Anderson discharged his taser. Ferguson was then handcuffed, and as he was being prepared to be loaded into an ambulance, he repeatedly spit on Anderson and also spat in the face of a paramedic. After his arrest and transportation to the Lake County Jail, Ferguson also made explicit death threats to several officers and their families.
