H. Daniel Emerson

Dan was born in Portland, Ore., January 29, 1942 to Harry and Violet Emerson.  He passed away in Sun City, Ariz., on May 1 of natural causes.  He is survived by: his wife of 51 years, Kathryn; three children, Teresa (Dave) Lynch, Jeanne (Mike) Dennison, Wade (Joanne) Emerson; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and one half-brother, Larry Brown. Dan was raised in the Portland area.  He has lived and worked in Alaska, Wyoming and Montana.  He has had several occupations, including mining, ranching, building construction and farming.  Dan served on the joint board (FJBC) as a water commissioner for many years. With his generosity, he was willing to help anyone who needed help.  He kept everyone laughing with his quick wit and sense of humor.  He always had a joke for every occasion.  Dan had a high standard for living and working in which he expected others to follow suit.  His famous last words were, “did you hear one about ... .” The memorial service will be held at Terrace Lake Community, 35663 Terrace Lake Road, Ronan, at 11 a.m. Friday, May 10, with a graveside observance and meal following at the church.
