Ronan Thanksgiving Dinner
The Tenth Annual Ronan Community Thanksgiving Dinner will be on November 28th from 11:00am to 3:00pm at the Ronan Community Center. Each year, the celebration draws several hundred residents, coming to share conversation, homemade pie and the chance to recognize the good that has come into their lives. Dinner is free but volunteers and cooks are needed.
Polson Community Church dinner
Polson Community Church Fifth Friday Dinner November 29 at 1814 1st Street East. Spaghetti will be ready at 4:30 to make sure you can eat and go home before dark. No turkey will be served. All are welcome.
Mission Chamber plans Christmas events
On Saturday, Dec. 7, the St. Ignatius Chamber of Commerce will have their Annual Children’s Christmas Carnival at the Community Center beginning at 2:00 pm. There will be game and prizes for everyone. The Christmas Tree lighting will be at 5:30 and there will be chili and hot beverages available. The caroling hay wagon will lead the Parade of Lights through town. All businesses, churches, and organizations are invited to take part. There is no fee, just a lot of fun to be had by everyone. Miracle of America free events
The Miracle of America Museum, will be hosting an activity night on the second Thursday of each month at 6:30 pm. It is free to the public. If you’d like to share cookies or other treats, they are welcome.

The December 12th program will be a classic short movie starring Jimmy Stewart and the Mormon Tabernacle Choir in “Mr. Kruegers Christmas” followed by a poem written during WW11 by the Lake County Superintendant of Schools. If you have a favorite Christmas poem we invite you to share. A piano is available if your family wants to play and sing.
Mission Mountain Quilt Guild
The Mission Mountain Quilt Guild will hold their December meeting on December 3rd at 6 p.m. at the Terrace Lake Community Church, 35663 Terrace Lake Rd. in Ronan. Dinner will be furnished! Don’t forget the December 14th Gallery Frame Class - start gathering your supplies now if you’ve signed up!
Polson Foursquare Church
At Polson Foursquare Church on Sun., Nov. 24, “My Hope America” with Billy Graham will air at 10 a.m. All are welcome to attend. Free chili and cornbread lunch following service. Please call 883-9347 for more info.
Blackbeard the Pirate Performance in Arlee
What starts as a lazy day at the beach, quickly turns into mystery and adventure when the search for Blackbeard’s treasure begins! Tales both past and present lead us on a search of untold riches. Just where has Blackbeard and his crew hidden their legendary treasure?
The local cast features Blackbeard and his bearded Pirate Crew, as the Sailors and the Beach Bums. Also a gang of nautical creatures join the fun! The cranky Crabs, the cantankerous Crocodiles, the melodious Mermaids, the secretive Seaweed Creatures and the precocious Parrots! Assistant directors worked throughout the week.
“Blackbeard the Pirate” will be presented at 7 PM, Saturday, November 23 at the Arlee High School Performing Arts Old Gym. Tickets are $5/adults, $3/students, $15/family and preschool are free, and are available at the door.
The Missoula Children’s Theatre residency in Arlee, Montana, is presented locally by the Arlee Schools Jt. #8 with support from Montana Arts Council and local supporters. For more information, call Carrie Drye at the Arlee Schools at 406-726-3216.
Ronan Holiday Concerts
K. William Harvey Christmas Concerts will be held December 12th. 3rd and 4th grade concert 10:00 a.m., and the 1st and 2nd grade concert will be at 12:30 p.m.
The shows will take place in the Performing Arts Center (PAC), located in the Ronan Event Center.
Holiday Decorations Contest
The Beautification Committee of Envision Polson is announcing plans for the third annual community-wide holiday decorations contest. Interested citizens are encouraged to start planning their displays.
The contest theme is “Celebrate the Season of Light.”
Categories for judging are residence, business, church and neighborhood (three residences constitute a neighborhood entry.) Judges will look for best use of theme, best use of lights, originality and overall appearance. One winner will be named in each category and will be rewarded with a “winner” yard sign.
Boundaries for the contest include Polson’s city limits and have been enlarged to include Highway 35 as far east as Fulkerson’s Corner and Rocky Point Road as far north as to Baypoint Road.
Nomination forms are available now in Polson at the Chamber of Commerce (418 Main St.), Ace Hardware, Sears, First Resort, Jackie M Shoes and Hallmark. Forms may also be downloaded from the Chamber’s website, www.polsonchamber.com as well as the Greater Polson Community Foundation website, www.polsonforever.org.
Lighting displays must be completed by Monday, Dec. 9. Nomination forms are due Tuesday, Dec. 10.
