Prep football predictions, Oct. 11
Arlee (2-4) at Superior (4-2)
The Warriors’ schedule doesn’t get any easier after being blown out by Charlo last Friday. ... The ‘Cats are led by dynamic quarterback Wyatt Zylawy who is a dual threat under center. ... The key for Arlee will be, as always, limiting turnovers and getting the ball to playmakers Patrick BigSam and P.J. Haynes in the open field. ... The Arlee line has been bolstered by the return of end Kyler Clinkenbeard and the emergence of Harold Yocum (6.5 sacks this season) on the other side.
Robertson’s Prediction: Superior 48, Arlee 28
Seeley-Swan (3-3) at Charlo (5-0)
Seeley-Swan is much improved this year, entering the matchup at .500 for the first time in what must seem like forever for Black Hawk fans. Let’s not expect them to leave Charlo above even. ... The Vikings simply have too many weapons—Tyler Delaney, Jacen Petersen, Tristan Santee, Michael Delaney—to be shut down by the upstarts.
Robertson’s Prediction: Charlo 60, Seeley-Swan 18
Mission (1-5, 0-2) at Loyola (4-0, 1-0)
Matt McHugh and the Rams will be too much for Mission’s young club.
Robertson’s Prediction: Loyola 49, Mission 7
Libby (1-5, 0-1) at Polson (3-2, 1-1)
Polson looks to rebound from a 26-7 loss at Whitefish last week, and Libby is the perfect opponent to do just that. ... The Pirates will have to get the running game going again with Brady Hislop, Jacob Clairmont and Andrew Weltz. ... Polson will also need to limit turnovers. They surrendered five at Whitefish. ... Libby’s only win came on Sept. 27 against Browning, which Polson shut out on Sept. 20.
Robertson’s Prediction: Polson 34, Libby 13
Ronan (1-4) at Thompson Falls (2-4)
The Chiefs have a non-district game here late in the season, a good breather to regroup from a tough stretch with Loyola and Deer Lodge the past two weeks. ... Both of the Blue Hawks’ wins are over Plains, so let’s not get over-excited about that 2-4 record. In their four losses, T-Falls has been outscored 166-21. ... Ronan’s rushing attack could shine over in Sanders County.
Robertson’s Prediction: Ronan 27, Thompson Falls 14
