Drummond (5-1) at Charlo (6-0)

The Vikings may have played their most dominant half of football yet this season in last Friday’s 76-22 shellacking of Seeley-Swan, giving them momentum they’ll need entering the gauntlet of their 2013 schedule; Drummond and Victor look to be two of the toughest opponents in 8-man ball. … The Trojans are led by senior Kevin Oberweiser, who has accounted for 17 touchdowns this year (nine rushing, eight passing). His favorite target has been tailback Danny Mannix (37 catches, 418 yards, four TDs). … Mannix is a bruising ball-carrier as well, averaging 5.3 yards per carry. He has 12 rushing touchdowns. … Charlo’s arsenal includes seniors Tyler Delaney, Jacen Petersen and Tristan Santee on an offense that has been deftly orchestrated by Michael Delaney so far this season. … The key for Charlo is to play clean football, as Drummond is one of the best disciplined teams in the state. … This is certainly the game of the week in 8-man football, with the winner in the proverbial driver’s seat in Western C.

Robertson’s prediction: Charlo 52, Drummond 36

Mission (1-5, 0-3) at Ronan (2-4, 0-2)

Mission travels over the hill to take on the Chiefs with both teams still searching for their first Western 6-B victory. … Ronan had a breakout win over Thompson Falls, 38-12, last week, getting big efforts from Lucas Gerhardt, Connor Benn and an offensive line that had struggled most of the season to that point. … The Bulldogs will look to put a 51-7 loss at Loyola Sacred Heart behind them. … The key for Mission is blocking, both for tailback Raymond Matt and quarterback Nick Durglo. Durglo has shown that he can sling it, leading all Lake County quarterbacks in yards per completion. … Ronan will look to find success on the ground yet again, either with Gerhardt’s bruising runs between the tackles, Benn on the keeper or Bryce Cullen or Cole Snyder on the end-arounds.

Robertson’s prediction: Ronan 36, Mission 14

Havre (3-3) at Polson (4-2)

The Blue Ponies travel to Polson looking to unleash a passing attack led by sophomore QB Dane Warp (92-154-1,676 yards, 13 TD, 6 INT). Warp has hit nine different targets this season, but the most productive receivers have been Thomas Gruber (23 receptions, 432 yards, 7 TDs) and Nate Rismon (25 receptions, 377 yards, 4 TDs). … Fortunately for the Pirates D, pass defense has been their strength. Expect safety Cedrick Smith to take away the big play and a dynamic pass rush that wreaked havoc with Libby last week to try and do the same with Havre. … Polson’s offense is led by the dual rushing attack of Andrew Weltz and Brady Hislop. … The teams’ only common opponent, Whitefish, beat both teams handily, taking down Havre, 45-27, on Aug. 31 and drubbing Polson, 26-7, Oct. 4.

Robertson’s prediction: Polson 27, Havre 22
