Harvest dinner
The Good Shepherd Lutheran Church will hold its annual Harvest Dinner of Swedish Meatballs, potatoes, gravy, lefse, salad and dessert from 4:30-7 p.m. on Thursday, October 24 in the church fellowship hall. All proceeds to benefit The Boys & Girls Club of Lake County and Polson Loaves & Fish Food Pantry.
Community dinner
Everyone is welcome to attend a free community dinner at Fellowship Baptist Church at 2 7th Ave. E. in Polson from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Oct. 24. This will be the last dinner until January! Call 883-0800 for more info.
Library hosts story time
The North Lake County Public Library will be hosting a special hour story time for children 3-5 and their caregivers. It will be every Thursday @10AM and 1PM. Book sale
North Lake County Public Library in Polson is holding its annual used book sale on Friday and Saturday, October 25th and 26th, in the library meeting room. Everyone is welcome. The sale will be staffed by library volunteers, who will open the doors from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Friday and from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday. The library is located at #2 First Avenue East. Port Polson Players present “The Uninvited”
The supernatural mystery “The Uninvited” opens the Port Polson Players 39th season at the John Dowdall Theatre October 25-27 and the following weekend November 1-3. Curtain time is 7:30 on Fridays and Saturdays and 2:00 for the matinee on Sunday. The Players promise a “haunting good time” featuring a classic ghost story. Halloween Party at D’Aste Church
The D’Aste Women’s club will be hosting its annual Halloween party on Sunday, October 27th from 2 pm – 5pm at the D’Aste Church on Dublin Gulch Road in Charlo. Costumes for all are welcomed. Downtown Trick or Treating
The downtown businesses will again be having Trick or Treating on Thursday, October 31 from 10 a.m.- 3 p.m. Watch for Pumpkins in the windows for participating businesses!
Pumpkin Patch Bash
The Pumpkin Patch Bash will be at the Polson High School Gymnasium from 6-8 on October 31st. This totally free carnival is designed for families with children 6th grade and under. There will be a free family dinner, games, candy and giveaways. Don’t miss this amazing annual event which is sponsored by New Life Christian Center. For more information please call 883-2447.
Mission Mountain Audubon Society
“The Polar Bears of Hudson Bay” by Dr. Frank Tyro will be the next evening program of the Mission Mountain Audubon Society on Monday, 28 October at 7 pm in the Polson Library meeting room. Everyone is welcome.
Dr. Tyro has visited Churchill, Manitoba 33 times over a period of 29 years and observed the animals and changes in the climate and attitudes toward bears. Tyro has been at Salish Kootenai College in Pablo since 1984, the same year he accompanied Dr. Jonkel to Churchill, Manitoba for the first time. He is an SKC professor, general manager and chief engineer of KSKC, local public TV.
Mission Mountain Quilt Guild
The Mission Mountain Quilt Guild will hold it’s next monthly meeting at the Terrace Lake Community Church, 35663 Terrace Lake Rd., Ronan, at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, November 5th. Please come earlier to sign in and hang your show and tell. Please plan your UFO challenge project and turn in your sign-up sheets that night. Be working on the Educational Blocks of the month from the patterns sent out by Kay for Robyn. Community party in Dixon
On Nov. 3, the Dixon community is holding an open house party for a local couple that’s retiring, and a World War II vet with cancer who has lived in Dixon for 35 years.
The event will be held at the Dixon Senior Center from 2 to 4. There is no charge. Call Harley or Joey Hettick at 246-3526 for more information.

Preschool Screening Clinic
A free Developmental and Preschool Screening Clinic for children ages 0 through 5 in the Dixon and Charlo School Districts will be held on Monday, Nov. 4, in the Dixon Preschool (246-3566) from 9:30 ? 11:30 a.m. and in the Charlo Elementary School (644-2206) from 12:30 ? 2:30 p.m. Please call your school to schedule an appointment for your child’s screening or to receive more information.
Free admission for Veterans Day Weekend
In honor of Our Veterans Entrance Fees to Glacier National Park and 401 National Park Sites across the country will be waived November 9-11.
Rock Your Moc’s
On Friday, November 15, 2013 at The People’s Center in Pablo, “Rock your Moc’s” will be held in honor of Native American Heritage Month (November). Join us here at The People’s Center at noon for a potluck lunch (we will provide fry bread). We will take a picture of all the moc’s then do a round dance together to honor all Native Americans. Polson Driver Exam Hours
Now offered from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. on Monday and from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Friday (closed daily from 12 ? 1 p.m. for lunch). Written testing is offered daily until 30 minutes before closing. Drive tests are Monday and Tuesday from 10:30 ? 11:30 a.m. and 1 ? 3 p.m., and on Wednesday through Friday by appointment only. Fall Mack Days
