Polson takes second in Little Guy Wrestling championships
KALISPELL — The Polson Wrestling Club took second place in the Western Montana Little Guy Wrestling Championship Tournament held in Kalispell on Friday and Saturday, March 28 and 29. In all, 17 Polson wrestlers placed in the top four or their brackets.
“This capped off the most successful season we have had in the past several years,” coach Bob Owen expressed. “The overall enrollment in our program was down a little bit this season, but the quality and work ethic of the kids in this developmental group was excellent. I think the future is very bright for the Polson Pirates”.
Polson was led by four individual champions in the competition. Gator Cheff wrestled in the Middle 75-pound class and finished an undefeated season with his fifth championship title. R.J. Pierre M95, Strann Seemann M105, and Trent Wilson N75 were the other Pirates that took home the gold in their brackets.
The Beginner State Tournament for kids 8-years-old and younger took place on Friday night, and Polson placed six wrestlers in that event.
