HELENA - Carroll College recently announced that it has signed four more girls to its 2014-15 softball team, including Polson softball star Jaylin Kenney.

Kenney was a three-sport athlete at Polson High School, competing in golf, basketball and softball throughout her high school career. She also enrolled in all five AP classes Polson High School offers and graduated in 2014 as a class valedictorian. Kenney has also been part of three golf state championships and two softball state championships, which has also awarded her the title of “most state championships” in Polson history.

The group of recruits Kenney is part of is made up of all Montana girls.

“This group of recruits is made up of all in-state products. They are all excited to be able to stay close to home and play the game they love. Each possesses a great Montana work ethic and their upsides are immense,” said Carroll softball coach Aaron Jackson in a recent press release posted by Carroll college.

Surely her closeness to home will allow Lake County fans to follow the future of Kenney’s career. She managed to impress both academically and athletically in high school, and her list of accolades is long. Aside from her multiple state championships she was named academic all-state three times, softball all-state twice and softball all-conference three times.

“I hope to become an integral part of the softball program and set a precedent for future success,” Kenney said in the same press release for Carroll college.

Kenney will also play golf for the Saints in the fall. The Carroll college athletic department announced the addition of women’s softball and men’s soccer in February of 2014, making Kenney a player on the first-ever Carroll softball team. They will begin home games in the spring at Batch Fields in Helena.
