Coat giveaway needs donations
POLSON – For 14 years, employees at America’s Best Value Port Polson Inn closed one of their rooms and opened their doors to charity.
Anyone who is cold can get a coat for free.
The annual Coats for Kids program, run by manager Anne Engebretson and her husband Kevin, offers a warm coat, and a few other winter-related items as they are available.
But Anne Engebretson needs donations. Employees began giving away coats in October and their stock is depleted.
Front desk employee Liz Clairmont said the group needs winter coats.
“We can always use more coats,” Clairmont said. “Especially boys coats for kids 11 years old and up. We don’t have nearly enough.”
Coats must be in good condition, clean and have working zippers.
Donations are accepted and coats are distributed between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m., daily go to America’s Best Value Port Polson Inn located at 49825 Highway 93, directly across the street from Flathead Lake in Polson.
