SENIOR NEWS: Dec. 11

Our Thursday night meal is this week, on the 11th. We will be serving a great chicken meal, starting at 5 p.m. Everyone is welcome to attend. Cards will be played here at 1:30, on Monday, the 15th, and Jane will be here to do the foot clinic from 10 am until noon on Wednesday, the 17th. Our Christmas dinner will be at noon on Wednesday, the 17th. A ham dinner is on the menu, and we sure hope that you can join us. The date of the birthday dinner is Friday, the 19th, and will be for both the November and the December birthdays.

The Center will be closed on both Thursday, the 25th, and Friday, the 25th, so our employees can enjoy the holiday with their families. We will also be closed on January 1st and 2nd for the New Years holiday. In looking at December’s, I noticed that the dates, starting with the 4th Monday, are wrong. The correct dates are as follows:

Our menu for next week is: Wed. is taco bar; Thurs. is chicken; Fri. is cheeseburgers; Mon.is chicken enchiladas; Wed. is ham.

News flash: A midget fortuneteller has escaped from jail. Police are looking for a small medium at large.

Thanks to Shirley Laisy and Jo Durand for the seasonal decorations that adorn our facility. They always come up with the most clever arrangements. A special thanks also to those who helped at our Community Thanksgiving dinner. The Valley Business guys, Klaus, Matt, and Chris carved turkeys. Others teamed up to deliver meals.

Tuesday’s senior bowling league saw Cris and Larry Alter capturing the high game scores with Cris’ 258 and Larry’s 255. Cris also had the high series with a 718. Diana scored 788 to take the high women’s handicap series with a 788 and Walter Reznicek had a 750 for the men’s.

Veterans Assistance will be available from 10 a.m. to noon, at the Senior Center Dec. 16.

The lunch menu for the coming week is as follows:

• Thursday, Dec. 11th, Pork tips in gravy over noodles.

• Friday, 12th, Sloppy Joes/tater tots.

• Monday,  15th, Taco soup, corn chips, sour cream.

• Tuesday, 16th, French dips, tater tots.

• Wednesday, 17th, Hamburger stroganoff/noodles. Lunch is served from 11:45-12:30.
