Daniel Ryan Tuller

| February 13, 2014 2:30 PM

Daniel Ryan Tuller, 43, of Moses Lake passed away at Sacred Heart Hospital in Spokane, Wash. on Dec. 27, 2013, from complications associated with influenza A.

Born in Renton, Wash., Dan grew up in Ephrata, Wash., attending and graduating from Ephrata High School where he took part in winning the state football championships of 1987 and 1988. Dan also received an inspirational award in ‘87-‘88 from the Ephrata High School band.

The summer of 1987, Dan enlisted in the Army National Guard and served his country for three years. After serving as Youth Pastor in Ronan, he enrolled in Trinity Bible College, where he enjoyed playing more football. He told his three boys many stories of playing football with pneumonia, broken ribs and much pain, yet he loved every minute of it!

In May of 2002, Dan and Esther Pearson were married and began the family he had always hoped for. Over the next 12 years they lived in the Polson/Ronan area, then to Grand Junction, Colo., and then to Moses Lake, Wash., and were blessed with three awesome boys.

Dan is survived by his wife, Esther, sons, Josiah (7), Gideon (5) and Ezra (3) of Moses Lake, his mother, Rita Tuller of Kalispell, brothers Jason Tuller of Kalispell, Mike Halperin of Spokane, Wash., and Rich Cory, and many close brothers in Christ.

Dan loved the principles our country was founded upon and spent much of his life promoting and protecting our freedom to live by these ideas. Throughout his life, Dan had been referred to as many things, the most recent, “sandpaper.” I laughed when I heard this, it was so appropriate! For many who knew Dan, he was a lot like sandpaper, smoothing out other people’s rough spots. Dan always made it clear where he stood and what he stood for.

Dan’s greatest achievement was his three sons and the ability to love them unreservedly. Dan loved his family, the great outdoors and Jesus Christ.

The Memorial Service was held Jan. 25 in Moses Lake.
