Ag Expo rounds up Lake County
The cold weather may have kept most of the livestock home, but it wasn’t enough to keep stalwart members of the agriculture community away from last weekend’s event in Ronan.
The 2014 Lake County Leader Ag Expo and Livestock Show went off with a bang again this year as farmers, ranchers and locals gathered in the Ronan Community Center at the Lake County Fairgrounds.
Among the booths were Westland Seed, Community Bank, Axmen, the Marine Corps League, Miller Barns, Ronan Irrigation, New Holland Tractors and the Lake County Conservation District.
Among laughs at the St. Luke Community Healthcare table from Brooke Roberts and Wayne Fuchs while they joked with community members about Fuchs’ upcoming retirement, St. Luke offered free blood pressure and cholesterol screenings.
The Leader spearheaded the event and offered a sale price for subscriptions and raffled off tools, books and a wheelbarrow. Many of the other groups offered door prizes and free goodies. Breakfast and lunch were provided by the 4-H Shooting Sports Group, as a fundraiser for the club.
