Lela Gertrude Smith

Lela Gertrude Smith, 93, went to be with her Lord Jan. 14, 2014 at her home in Greeley, Colo. surrounded by her family.

Lela was born to Perry and Ethyl Baker April 14, 1920 in Dexter, Kan. She was raised in Hutchinson, Kan. The family moved to Ft. Collins in Dec. 1949.

She married Ernest Claude Smith Aug. 4, 1940 in Jasper County, Mo. Lela was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three brothers, 3 sisters, one son (Danny), infant daughter (Lela Elaine) who died at the age of six months, and three step sons.

She is survived by her children: Ernest (Judy) of Springfield, Mo., Teresa “Tracy” Shaw (Norman) of Ronan, Jerry Smith (Barbara) of LaPorte, Roxy Pitner (Art) of Greeley, Philip (Barbara) of Severence, Rebecca “Becky” Smith (Ken) of Ft. Collins, Judy Niesent (Lonnie) of Loveland, along with numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
