Missoula woman killed in Highway 93 rollover
POLSON — Vivian Thompson, 77, of Missoula, died of injuries suffered Thursday when the pickup truck driven by her husband, Raymond Thompson, careened off U.S. Highway 93 south of Ronan and rolled end-over-end, according to Lake County Undersheriff Dan Yonkin.
The pickup struck an barrier, sailed almost 100 feet, then rolled end-over-end, according to Montana Highway Patrol officials.
Emergency responders transported Vivian Thompson St. Luke Hospital in Ronan and later airlifted her to the hospital in Kalispell, where she died.
Raymond Thompson was airlifted to the Kalispell hospital and is expected to be released on Thursday.
Montana State Highway Patrol Sgt. Randy Owens says the cause of the crash is still under investigation.
Both were wearing seat belts.
