CSKT group analyzing technical impacts of proposed water compact

HELENA – The CSKT Technical Working Group  met June 10 and 12, as it continues to analyze data associated with the proposed water rights settlement for the Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes.

The Water Policy Interim Committee formed the TWG to examine relevant technical aspects of the proposed CSKT settlement in June.

The working group will meet throughout the summer.

Locations for future meetings has yet to be determined, but will be noticed.

All meetings are open to the public, and will be streamed or recorded for the legislative website.

Members of the TWG are:

* John Metesh, chairman, director of Montana Bureau of Mines and Geology

* Andrew Brummond, water rights and streamflow specialist, Montana FWP

* Larry Dolan, surface water hydrologist, Montana DNRC

* Russell Levens, hydrosciences section supervisor, Montana DNRC

* Mike McLane, water resources specialist, Montana FWP

* Kirk Waren, senior research hydrogeologist, Montana Bureau of Mines and Geology
