PABLO — A standoff with a gunman ended peacefully last week in Pablo.

Shortly after 5 p.m. on March 11, Flathead Tribal Police responded to a call near the Pache Homesites in Ronan for a report of a suicidal male with a rifle. Lake County deputies along with Ronan police officers and Montana Highway Patrol officers responded to assist and found the suspect in a field just south of the homesite, according to a Lake County Sheriff’s Office press release.

For approximately two hours, the officers negotiated with the male who surrendered without firing any shots.

The man was transported to St. Luke in Ronan, where he received treatment for his condition.
