POLSON — The Lake County detention officer placed on administrative leave last week is happily back to work, Lake County Undersheriff Dan Yonkin said Tuesday.

The officer was placed on leave on the suspicion that he contributed to underage drinking at a party held at his home last week.

“The results of our investigation indicated that he was not responsible for the party at the residence,” Yonkin said.

Polson police were called to the residence after a noise complaint and discovered the underage drinkers then.

Instead, Yonkin said he expects Polson police to cite the officer’s roommate and another adult for providing the minors with alcohol. The underage drinkers were cited by Polson police that evening, Yonkin said.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, administrative leave is standard protocol when an office employee may be facing criminal charges.
