Frenchtown 8, Polson 4

POLSON — The Pirates rallied for two runs in the bottom of the seventh, but they couldn’t push enough across to upset conference-leading Frenchtown.

Jaylin Kenney paced the Polson attack, going 4-for-4 at the plate.

Jessica Bagnell kept the Pirates in the game with eight strikeouts despite her team’s five fielding errors.

Plains-Hot Springs 9, MAC 4

PLAINS — Shania Dubois homered and singled for the Bulldogs, but Plains’ offense was too much.

Courtney Charlo struck out seven from the circle for MAC.

PLAINS — The Bulldogs got the deficit closer, but they were unable to push any runs across in the final three innings.

ST. IGNATIUS — Alyssa Doty finished a homer short of the cycle and drove in two MAC baserunners to lead the Bulldogs to victory.

Connor Smith added a triple and a single and three RBI for MAC.

FLORENCE — Mission-Arlee-Charlo managed just two hits in the second game of Saturday’s twin bill. One of the Bulldogs turf-ticklers was a two-bagger from Alyssa Doty as they finished up a set of five games in three days.

DRUMMOND — The Maidens shellacked Drummond-Philipsburg behind Kenzie Dulmes’ 3-for-3 effort. The Ronan shortstop also drove in three runs.

Kendra Starkel smoked a double and had two RBI.

Alaina Madsen tossed the one-hit shutout for Ronan.

DRUMMOND — Alaina Madsen capped off a terrific day with a two-hitter as Ronan completed the road sweep.
