Jury finds fault with Hyundai
POLSON — A Lake County jury determined the Hyundai Motor Company at fault in a 2011 fatal crash on Highway 93 near Arlee, ending the suspenseful 11-day trial.
The family of Missoula teenagers Trevor and Tanner Olson, who were killed in the wreck, claimed that a faulty steering knuckle in the vehicle had caused Trevor Olson's car to veer into the oncoming lane.
Hyundai's counter-argument was centered around the claim that Trevor was distracted by fireworks in the vehicle.
The jury awarded each parent $5 million and each sibling $500,000.
