ST. IGNATIUS – The St. Ignatius Police Department has turned its preliminary investigation over to the Lake Country Prosecutor in the case involving a St. Ignatius teenager who was stabbed May 7.

“We have turned over our preliminary report, but will continue to investigate the situation,” said St. Ignatius Police Chief Jeffrey Ferguson.

The 17 year-old was stabbed in the back and head by a 14 year-old boy, who was arrested after the stabbing and is now being held on a probation violation.

The victim, who was treated for multiple stab wounds to the back and head, has been released from the hospital, according to Ferguson.
