Charlo sweeps 14C track titles

POLSON — Charlo’s boys’ and girls’ track teams took home the hardware from the District 14C track and field meet last Thursday in Polson.
The Vikings boys’ squad ran away from second-place Hot Springs, winning 10 of the 17 events, including both relays. Tyler Delaney swept the sprint events and Kail Pope the hurdles to set the tone.
On the girls side, the Vikings also took home a 50-point victory behind a hurdles sweep from Aspen Runkel. Runkel also won the 200, and teammate Sienna Brown took home a 100-meter dash title. Mackenzie Foust won the 2-mile, Lea Reich took the triple jump and Jordan Ludeman won the pole vault for Charlo.
The Scarlets of Arlee finished second, seeing Jessica Knoll (400, 800), Becca Whitesell (mile) and Whitney Malatare (long jump) win individual events.
Two Eagle River’s Kamiah Payne won the boys’ long jump.
