WHAT: Express concerns to newly elected legislators

WHEN: 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.

WHERE: Polson North County Public Library meeting room

DETAILS: A post-election panel with the newly elected Lake County delegation to the legislature is an opportunity for citizens to communicate their concerns, prior to the January session of the Montana legislature, to the two newly elected Senators and three representatives from Lake County. Moderator is County Commissioner Bill Barron. This meeting is sponsored by the Lake County Republicans.

FRIDAY, NOV. 7

WHAT: Annual fall bazaar

WHEN: 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

WHERE: First United Methodist Church of Polson, 301 16th Ave. E. in Polson

DETAILS: The ever-popular apple dumpling is again the menu highlight. Soup and sandwiches topped off with a dumpling and ice cream. Art, homemade crafts and bake goods. United Methodist Women sponsor the event and use proceeds for local and church-wide mission projects.

SATURDAY, NOV. 8

WHAT: Quilt Guild works on table toppers

WHEN: 9 a.m.-4 p.m.

WHERE: Ronan Terrace Lake Community Church

DETAILS: You can bring your autumn strips from the last meeting and work on your pumpkin table topper, or any other item of your choice, perhaps something for the Country Store. It’s a potluck, with the meeting following lunch. Don’t forget your sewing machine and supplies.

WHAT: Valley View Club celebrates 90 years

WHEN: 7 to 10 p.m.

WHERE: Valley View Clubhouse, 40762 Valley View Road

WHAT: Baked potato dinner

WHEN: 4 to 7 p.m.

WHERE: Ronan Senior Center

DETAILS: The Ronan Woman’s Club will host a baked potato dinner to raise funds to purchase Home Heart Monitors for the International Heart Institute at St. Patrick’s Hospital. This is a statewide project involving all the Woman’s Clubs in Montana. The price will be donations only.

WHAT: Republican Women meet

DETAILS: Joe Balyeat, who has served 12 years in the Montana legislature in the House and the Senate, will make a presentation titled Obamacare 101 at this no-host luncheon.

DETAILS: Annual Scholastic Book Fair in the library is a fund-raising event for the library and a great opportunity for parents and children to pick up some of the newest children’s books.

DETAILS: 143 concert band and percussion students from Arlee, St. Regis, Thompson Falls, Plains, Bigfork and Ronan will rehearse all day with guest director Dylan Dwyer from Big Sky High School and percussion specialist Troy Bashor from Frenchtown.

DETAILS: The Miracle of America Museum hosts a monthly free program t the second Thursday of each month at in Polson.

 Everyone is welcome for the showing of the documentary film “Smoke on the Waters,” a movie about the early days of steam boating on Flathead Lake.
