Weapons call draws law enforcement to home across from college bookstore

PABLO – An unnamed woman called Lake County Sheriff’s Dispatchers at about 8:20 a.m. this morning and said a man with a gun was outside her Hewankorn Loop home, said Lake County Undersheriff Dan Yonkin.

The incident, which is currently listed as an open call, came moments after a separate emergency dispatch call from a person in the same area who called, then hung up; (which in dispatch terms is called a "911-hangup.) When dispatchers returned her call, the hang-up caller said she heard a domestic argument but that all was quiet at that time.

Emergency officials arrived on scene after the weapons call and are looking for a man who is wearing a maroon-colored shirt and brown pants. The man is not a suspect, but is just wanted for questioning.

Yonkin said the hang-up might be related to the weapons call and that neighbors are often the best help to law enforcement when trying to piece together a potentially volatile scene.

The man in question was reported to be carrying a shot gun at the time of the weapons call.

The Hewankorn Loop home is across the street from the CSKT College bookstore, Yonkin said.

There is no word about whether the college was affected by the incident.
