Polson posts two all-state golfers

At Hamilton this past weekend, the Fall golf season concluded with the State A tournament held at the Hamilton Golf Club. As anticipated, the home course advantage proved to be and edge for the Hamilton team as they took the boys title by ten strokes over second place Billings Central. Polson tied for sixth place. Among the finishes was an all-state performance by freshman Carson McDaniel, who placed tenth although his 162 score tied him with two others. Senior Reno Lindesmith just missed an all-state acknowledgement by a measly three strokes. The future looks fairly bright for the Polson boys team with McDaniel part of their roster for the next trio of seasons.

For the girls, Peyton Anderson placed sixth overall for her third all-state performance in as many seasons. The girls team was unable to field a full contingent to defend their 3peat title for a fourth time. But the Whitefish girls were going to be next to impossible to deny the top flight of the podium once Coral Schulz relocated to the area, a two-time all-state golfer at the AA level who transferred from Helena. The Whitefish Lady Bulldogs were looking strong without her factored into the equation, but once Schulz came on board their program, the most sought after piece of hardware was beginning to reflect a green and yellow tint. Polson will return both Heather Franck and Kiyara McCue next season as well as Emily Davis once she gets on the mend.
