Gypsy Ray new community development executive

RONAN – Gypsy Ray has been named as the Executive Director at Lake County Community Development Corporation in Ronan to succeed longtime leader of the Organization, Billie Lee who will be retiring this winter.

Gypsy took office Sept. 15. Lee will remain on staff for three months to help with the transition.  

“Gypsy brings a high degree of enthusiasm along with her many skills to the job,” stated LCCDC Board President, Brennin Grainey. “We believe she is the perfect choice to take the Organization.”

Gypsy Ray was born and raised in Western Montana.

She married her high school sweetheart and raised their two children in Frenchtown. Gypsy earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work from the University of Montana and her Master’s Degree in Social Work from Walla Walla University.

She has been working in the nonprofit sector for twenty years at WORD, the founding Executive Director of Mountain Home Montana and most recently the Coordinator of the Frenchtown Community Coalition.  

In her free time you will find her surrounded by children, coaching and cheering at sporting events and playing in the outdoors.  

On her new role with Lake County Community Development Corporation, Gypsy commented “After twenty years of working in the nonprofit sector in Missoula County, I am excited to now lead the Lake County Community Development Corporation. Billie Lee is leaving quite a legacy and I am honored to be named the successor of such a successful organization.”
