Two Lake County high school football team combined to score 128 points, Friday to set up an Oct. 10 shootout that could wind up with a basketball score.

Arlee 70,

Superior 34

The victory was especially sweet for the Warriors as they’ve lost to the Bobcats for the past several seasons: L56-20 in 2013, L70-14 in 2012 and L51-12 in 2011.

Charlo 58,

Noxon 0

The Charlo Vikings gave the Red Devils of Noxon plenty of exorcize as they rumbled for 8 scores.  Quarterback Michael Delaney was a perfect 5-5, connecting at will with his receivers.  Kobe Cox netted a pair of pick-sixes when  he intercepted Noxon twice.

Ronan 19,

Eureka 18

Ronan rallies in final quarter to catch cagey Lions.  After trailing by a pair of touchdowns after three quarters of play, Ronan finally found its rhythm with three late scoring drives to nip the Lions on their home turf.  The Chiefs actually had a pair of earlier scoring opportunities in the first half that could have given them the lead,  but both throws into the end zone were unable to connect on the other end of the plays.  The final scoring drive completion from Justin Krahn to Aaron Misa gave the Chiefs the TD they needed to match, but the outcome of the game hinged upon the successful PAT by Hap Cheff to provide them with the crucial edge that was needed.

Dillon 47,

Polson 0

Take a young team on the road, mix in a number of injuries at key positions, then toss in a tussle with the defending State A champions and such a mixture provide influential factors which shaped much of the outcome.  A torn ACL/MCL et al sustained by Jr WR/DB Hudson Smith ground to a halt not only the remainder of his football season, but will sideline him from athletics the remainder of the school year.  Soph QB//DB Tanner Wilson sustained a torn meniscus which will sideline him a segment of the season depending on the extent of its severity.  Sr RB/LB Joe Gallatin was forced to exit the Dillon game due to injury, but should be able to return to action shortly.  Polson (1-1) plays host to visiting SWA Corvallis (1-0) this Friday.

RUSHING (23-97) - Jacob Clairmont 11-79, Matt Rensvold 3-13, Joe Gallatin 1-7, Wyatt Ducharme 6-1, Danny DiGiallonardo 2-(-3).
