Pirates savor homecoming, 49-6

At Polson on homecoming, the host purple and gold squad trailed by a touchdown in the early going, but it was a whole lot of pillaging and plundering by the Pirates thereafter.

Browning capitalized upon a turnover to put some points on the board first, but Polson countered with a score of its own to even things up after a series of first downs that included a Tim Russell pass reception, a pair of Joe Gallatin rushes sandwiching a Bridger Rowley reset of the sticks, capped by a Rowley 6 yd plundge to tie the game.

The Pirates would forge ahead for good on another pair of Rowley rushing TDs, followed by a Jacob Harrod pass reception from QB Wyatt Ducharme that extended the lead to 29-6 at the half.  Harrod intercepted a Browning pass midway through the third period, which set the table for Rowley to complete the equivalent of a soccer hat trick with his third plunge into the end zone.

Danny DiGiallonardo showed off some of his blazing speed with a big 30 yd plus punt return, then set the table for the second TD by Chris Cote by slicing and dicing his way through Browning defenders for close to a 50 yd gain.  Browning actually completed another TD pass with about two and a half minutes remaining, but it was disallowed on account of an offside penalty.

Polson (2-2) travels to Frenchtown this Friday in an effort to bust the Broncs.

Arlee 52, Noxon 0

At Noxon, the Warriors’ Patrick BigSam reeled in four TDs from QB Riley Rogers and rumbled for another in another Western C 8-man win for the visitors.

PJ Haynes and Harold Yocum also found the promised land for the Warriors, who relied upon executing basic fundamentals along with relying on the offensive line to create space for rushers to run.

Arlee (3-0) travels to Darby this Friday in a effort to cage the Tigers.

Charlo 46, Seeley-Swan 0

At Seeley Swan this past Friday the 19th, the visiting Vikings battled the host Blackhawks through a scoreless first period, but then uncorked their offense to win this 10C contest handily.

Junior QB Michael Delaney was lost for the season due to a broken ankle sustained in the Victor game, but the Vikings have hardly skipped a beat with Trent Dennison pulling the trigger in the backfield.

Charlo (3-0) hits the road to tangle with the Superior Bobcats this Friday the 26th.

St. Ignatius wins by forfeit; loses to Glacier

The host Bulldogs picked up a win on account of a forfeit, then scheduled the AA Kalispell Glacier JV in the stead of the absent game, falling to the Wolfpack, which does not count against their overall record.  Mission (2-2) heads to Deer Lodge with the aim of locking down the host Wardens this Friday the 26th.

Bigfork 47, Ronan 0

At Ronan, the visiting Vikings were less than accommodating to the host Chiefs as they scored in every period to capture this nonconference clash.

The 2010 Class B champions, who have advanced to the latter rounds of the playoffs for the past trio of seasons, appear to be approaching postseason preparedness once again.

Ronan (2-2) travels to Missoula to tangle with two-time defending champion Loyola this Friday the 26th.
